Up until now, I've focused on reviewing/re-capping Scooby Doo episodes that I enjoy. However, I’m told that negative reviews are far more fun for others to read. So this time I’m re-capping an episode that sucks from the What’s New Scooby Doo Series: “Camp Comeoniwannascareya”

.....you probably thought I was going to use an episode from the-show-that-shall-not-be-named. However, all my attempts to recap that show ended in a flurry of bra-burning and profanity. So don’t expect me to try that again anytime soon.

Now, let’s begin:

Big Top Scooby Doo's official release date is October 9th. However, Wal-Mart stores currently have it on their shelves for way less than it's suggested retail price. I got it last night (and it only cost me $12).

I already reviewed this movie back when Amazon streamed it. So I'll just say that I HIGHLY recommend getting a copy next time you're near a Wal-Mart. Big Top's quality makes up for the fact that the DVD is pretty weak when it comes to extras....

I drew this comic immediately after watching episode 12 of Princess Tutu (and I had the other episodes on in the background while finishing it). I know I can't be the only one who wanted to see this ending when watching that episode for the first time:

Hey, remember back in my Fridging of Velma Dinkley essay when I joked that:
At least Velma was never sexually assaulted or severely beaten in Mystery Incorporated (however, the show was green lit for another season; so I wouldn’t put it past them just yet...)

Well, Velma wasn't sexually assaulted in the latest episode (she's an ugly, un-rapeable troll, remember?). But someone else was. Take a wild guess who.

Trigger Warning for horrors under the cut..... )

I....don't know what to make of this. Up until now, my over-the-top raging about this show was mostly a running joke (since CN essentially killed it with bad scheduling a long time ago and MI's canon hasn't seeped into any other Scooby projects). But now I am genuinely PISSED OFF! Like, I have half a mind to write angry letters to Warner Bros, spread this news to feminist blogs, and write reviews on all the "Parental Watchdog" websites so parents know that this show is bad for kids (and adults) on every conceivable level.

WHERE THE HELL WERE THE NETWORK CENSORS WHEN WE FINALLY NEEDED THEM!?!?!

So, a few little birdies told me that Mystery Incorporated improved in season two and I should give it another chance (despite all my VERY COMPELLING REASONS to avoid it like leprosy). So I tuned into today's new episode because I had nothing better to do this morning.

Today's episode featured a Puritan ghost who attacks teenagers on Lovers Lane for acting "impure". Specifically, he likes to target the teenage girls for dressing like harlots. When the gang first meets the ghost, the ghost chastises one random girl for her low neckline, chastises Daphne for her short skirt, and when he gets to Velma.....he remarks that he wont attack her because she is "plain, wholesome, and completely un-tempting to the male gaze". No, really. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING! THE SHOW REALLY DID THIS AGAIN!!!!

Apparently, despite the fact that Velma's skirt is shorter than Daphne's, even sexually repressed Pilgrims are so repulsed by her hideous, fat, masculine body that it doesn't bother their orthodox sensibilities to see her traipsing about with her legs exposed (because religious rules about modesty only apply to hot chicks).

Believe it or not, it gets worse...

More fat-shaming and sexism under the cut.... )

I should have known better than to do this again.

FUCK THIS SEXIST FUCKING SHOW AND THE CREEPY MISOGYNIST DOG IT RODE IN ON!!!!!

In this issue, the gang wanders into the lair of a psychotic S&M enthusiast, they learn a shocking secret about America's history, and then they rob a bank. And about a dozen people shove guns into their innocent teenage faces! O_o

Scans under the cut..... )

As always, I don't mind if people use these scans to make icons or whatever (I can't claim "ownership" of a book with characters that clearly aren't mine just because I scanned it). But credit would be much appreciated if you do opt to use them or show them off elsewhere. Thanks!

This issue is pretty action packed! In it, the gang visits a military base, a mummy's tomb, a casino, and a magic wishing well. And Fred has a bizarre identity crisis!

Turns out there’s a brand new mini-movie (in the style of recent films like Camp Scare) included in the recent Laff-A-Lympics DVD. When I heard this, I just HAD to get it.

You may be wondering if a new, 30 minute movie is worth paying $15 for the DVD. I’m here to give you a run down so you can decide for yourself.

Big Top Scooby Doo doesn't come out on DVD until October. But Amazon is offering it up for a 48-hour rental. I couldn't wait, so I paid the rental price ($3.99) and watched it early.

Needless to say, this comic spoils a crucial moment toward the end of the film.

I drew this with my sketchbook in my theatre seat because I wanted to get the idea down before it left my head. I think it came out pretty good considering I drew it in the dark! :)

Needless to say, thar be major spoilers under the cut. Don't read this if you haven't watched the finale already.

My thoughts on the Legend of Korra finale.....
