Oct. 1st, 2009 11:30 amIt makes me sick (and a little frightened) that I live in a state full of dimwits who believe that it's OK for a man to drug and rape a child if he's really rich, famous, and talented. People like Charlton Heston (may he rest in peace) and Dennis Miller are pariahs in Hollywood because they **gasp** openly supported Conservative policies and candidates late in their careers. And celebrity bimbos treat Sarah Palin like an active threat to females everywhere. But a dirtbag like Roman Polanski is a "tortured soul" who just made a "little mistake" and deserves to go free!? F**k Hollywood!

God only knows how many French little girls were victimized by him over the years. I'm glad that France is finally condemning him. Even though its about 30 years too late.

Aug. 8th, 2009 11:59 pmIts a beautiful place. And 99% of my family is here. But, yeah, it does suck. I'd go on, but this guy articulates it so much better....
Rep. John Conyers is upset that some pesky American voters are demanding that he read bills before he signs them. Apparently, he thinks that reading is, like, totally way too hard. I have to wonder if he makes a habit of signing stuff without reading it. Because I'm tempted to approach him with a notarized contract promising to give me his salary for the next 10 years. ~_^
I would have loved to pull this crap in high school...
Teacher: "Why didn't you read the book before writing your book report?"
Me: "But Teach! That book was, like, 600 pages long! You can't expect me to read it in two weeks AND write a book report! That's totally unfair! Besides, do I really need to read the book to write a report about it?"

Exciting news about Terry Moore's Echo!
Jul. 28th, 2009 04:57 pmAn acquaintance of mine who went to Comic Con 2009 (and is a big Terry Moore fan) just let me in on some exciting news. She went to Terry Moore's panel and heard The Man himself announce that Echo (Moore's current series) is going to be made into a movie! Here's the announcement from Moore's own blog:

I'm a little surprised that Echo is getting the big screen treatment since the comic's story isn't done yet. So I'm assuming it'll get off the ground once the series is done. According to Moore's blog, the movie will be handled by the same producer that did Hellboy and Watchmen. I loved Hellboy; but I've heard...not-so-nice things about the Watchmen movie. Hopefully Moore will retain enough creative control to prevent some dumb executive from butchering Echo's story.
The blog entry also says he hopes to turn Strangers in Paradise into a TV series (preferably on HBO). I'm VERY suprised that he's so eager to work for HBO since, last time he tried working with them, they wanted to turn the series into an animated violent-porn show à la the Spawn cartoon and strip him of creative control!

Feb. 16th, 2009 01:23 amI'm starting to feel really homesick here in Colorado. So lately I've been checking out the local news online from my real home back in SoCal (Southern California). And it turns out that a major scandal regarding the mother of octuplets has popped up not too far from my hometown! Most of you have probably heard of it by now (the story is even popping up in international news sources!). Its always kinda wierd when these big, international stories pop up in your backyard. Here's a link to the story for the 3 people who haven't heard about it yet.

And it turns out that a major scandal regarding the mother of octuplets has popped up not too far from my hometown! Most of you have probably heard of it by now (the story is even popping up in international news sources!). Its always kinda wierd when these big, international stories pop up in your backyard.
