I will be massively disappointed if this scene doesn't happen within the first 10 minutes of Korra's second season.

I drew this in five minutes because my break was almost over when the idea struck. I think it came out pretty good considering it was rushed.

I really thought I was gonna love the Mako/Korra ship. D:

I think Korra had more chemistry with Bolin. But I would have preferred that she stayed single for the duration of the first season instead of going from being a proud badass to pathetically pining after a douchebag.

I'm guessing you're not a big Mako fan? :)

I thought I would enjoy both the brothers, but Mako's character just went downhill over the course of the first season.

WORD! He started out likable. But then his primary character conflict suddenly went from "How can my brother and I get by in this harsh city?" to "Which chick should I bang?".

LOL. How could you tell?

Seriously, it REALLY bugged me how the writers degraded his character over the course of the first season. At first, I really liked him. Yeah, he was a jerk. But I identified with his drive to care for his naive younger brother in a rough city. And it would have been nice to see him loosen up and learn to let go a little via his friendship with Korra and his relationship with a fun-loving gal like Asami.

But, instead of that, we saw Mako's primary character conflict go from "How can my brother and I get by in this harsh city?" to "Which chick should I bang?".
IMO, his two-timing sluttyness came out of nowhere and felt out of sync with how he had been previously characterized. And to top it off, HE FACED NO CONSEQUENCES FOR JERKING THEM AROUND AND GOT EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED IN THE END!!!

I do wish we could have seen a flashback or two of their childhood. Since Mako said he fought hard to ensure the both of them would survive, THAT'S the Mako I liked! Or even a glimpse of their parents' faces...

Agree! I thought I would really like Mako, but season one just ruined him. *sigh* And I agree, would have been so much better if Korra had just stayed single.

It's possible season two will be better since it's not just Mike and Byran behind the writing this time. (They actually brought back the other avatar writers) but man, oh man do they have a mess to clean up. @_@

Agreed. The way he treated Asami was just deplorable. That girl was going through hell, she had her whole life turned upside down, and Mako didn't even have the common decency to be honest with her. Hell, when she tried to initiate a civil discussion about their relationship status (which would have given him an easy way to tell her the relationship wasn't working for him), Mako yelled in her face and treated her like a selfish bitch for having the AUDACITY to want to speak to her boyfriend alone for 5 frickin' minutes!

Mako will have to rescue about 50 kids from a burning orphanage, take a bullet for a less douchey person, and retrieve about a dozen frightened kittens from the treetops before I stop hating him. I mean really, what the F**K were Mike and Bryan thinking when they wrote out his character arc!?!?

And I agree, would have been so much better if Korra had just stayed single.

But that's impossible! We all know that no teenage girl can function without a male love interest! The last teenage girl who tried enjoying life without a boyfriend was Merida; and look what happened! Her refusal to give up her interests in order to chase a penis resulted in half her family turning into bears!! Bear curses are what happens when girls hit their late teens without even crushing on a boy!! XD
