Now filling a late Chanukkah request from hannahsarah :
OK, do Scooby and the Gang as orthodox Jews, lighting a menorah! :-D

I wonder if this pic technically counts as "race-bending"?





I hope I got the orthodox outfits right. No one in my family is that devout. So I had to do my research via a quick google image search. ^_^;

This idea was a fun one. So I drew a few additional things for hannahsarah .



I actually had this idea before she made the suggestion. Because, in my head canon, Velma is at least ethnically Jewish (and it helps that the current voice actress is playing her that way)




Shaggy seems like the type of boyfriend who would go overboard like that. LOL


And here are all my brainstorming scribbles because I thought it would be fun to include them.

Oh my gosh, you are just the best thing EVER! I can't wait to show Rivka, she's going to love this.

The guys look adorable with payos, and I like the scarves on the girls.

Shaggy in the tallis is fantastic. (I think I saw him in Tsfat! There's tons of Orthodox hippies there. Maybe he's a Breslover?)

I had to look up "Breslover". That is SO Shaggy! It makes me happy to know that Orthodox Jewish hippies exist (and the boys look way cute in Orthodox garb!).

The hippie women wear long tie dye skirts and colorful scarves. Imagine a Greatful Dead concert in an ancient city in northern Israel, and you'll get the idea.

When Aryeh is ready to retire we're going to move to Tsfat. They even have kosher health food stores. I love it there SO much!

Technically, there's nothing in canon to indicate that she is. But I've always assumed she was Jewish because that's how the character came across to me. And current animated incarnations seem to imply it because the current voice actress (Mindy Cohn) inserts a lot of "Jewish mannerisms" and slang into her dialogue.
