The Archie comics run marked the last time Scrappy was a regular character in a Scooby Doo series. Thankfully, unlike the TV shows he was a part of, his inclusion doesn't exclude Fred and/or Velma. So he's actually tolerable as a member of the gang.

This series also wasn't afraid to be loose and wacky when it came to the art. While it's not always pretty (or on model), it's at least interesting to look at.

In the premiere issue we find out that Daphne is an elitist when it comes to amusement parks. And then Fred and Shaggy go to prison!

That last panel wasn't a typo. The Archie comics chose to break with previous publishers and let Scooby talk like he does in the show. However, they only occassionally bother writing out "Scooby Speak". So Scooby's dialogue bubbles are written normally for the most part. It's actually a bit annoying because they can't even keep it consistent within the same story. :P

Wait! Who the hell are those women? Are they like the Muses from Hercules or something? What the hell!?

WTF do all those hot women see in a wimpy dweeb like Archie!?!?!?

Hope you enjoyed that! Because there's more Archie Comics weirdness to come! ^_^

As always, I don't mind if people use these scans to make icons or whatever (I can't claim "ownership" of a book with characters that clearly aren't mine just because I scanned it). But credit would be much appreciated if you do opt to use them or show them off elsewhere. Thanks!

Wow, that Free Willy cartoon... The sad part is, somehow someone pitched that cartoon and got a board of executives to fund it.

Well, back then, any movie and/or celebrity that became semi-famous got it's own Saturday Morning Cartoon. Even if the subject matter was TOTALLY inappropriate for a kiddie show (ex Rambo: The Animated Series). I guess the people who greenlit cartoons back then had NO creativity (or they were really high)
