Gravity Falls cross over.....

I'm currently in recovery from my post-election chocolate binge. So I tried making something happy. Enjoy!









I started watching Gravity Falls a few weeks back and the first thing that struck me was this:



Gravity Falls basically took the Mystery Incorporated premise (ie kids living in a haunted tourist trap and dealing with the mysteries that ensue) and did it right. And as much as I love Gravity Falls (and I'm glad the creator was able to make something original); I so wish he had been given a shot at doing a new Scooby series instead of the sexist hacks who took my childhood icons and turned them into assholes and date rapists.

It also has a surprising degree of character complexity. For instance, even though Robbie is Dipper's main rival for Wendy's attention, and he's got serious flaws (he acts arrogantly and has displayed cowardice at least once), he's not being set up as a villain as far as I can tell -- Dipper and Robbie may even wind up becoming friends if the show continues long enough, I think.

What I love about Gravity falls is the sibling relationship between Dipper and Mabel. Apparently, the creator based their relation on his real life experience with his own twin sister.

Mabel and Velma would get along like two peas in a pond!. XD

I love that, too. Most TV siblings either have a love/hate relationship, fight constantly, or are unrealistically sappy. So it's nice to see a close sibling relationship done right in this show
