"Race Bending" fan art.....

I hope I don't get in trouble for this...  ^_^;

Since Asian-Velma is now canon (though only in the two made-for-TV live action movies) and that worked out REALLY well, I thought it would be interesting to try "race-bending" the other characters:



I opted to try an all-Black cast first.



I wanted to make them recognizable. However, I also wanted to avoid making them look like palette swaps of the originals. So I changed up the clothes and hair a bit.

I had Aisha Tyler in mind when I drew Daphne. And I wanted Fred to look like a slightly less dorky Carlton Banks.

In retrospect, Shaggy's hair probably should have been messier. But, oh well. XD

I might do more of these if the mood strikes me.

On race bending... Casey Kasem is a Lebanese- American (Druze). I propose Stoner Arab! :D?

I love the picture though! And the idea.

I kinda like Shaggy with dreads. Might be fun to have an asian Velma, a darker Shaggy, a french Daphne...
