Don't worry! This is a HAPPY comic! And it isn't set in the Mystery Incorporated universe; so the confession has nothing to do with sexual assault!

I was thinking of Pup Named Scooby Doo when I drew this. But it could fit into any canon (except the-show-that-shall-not-be-named. Because f**k that show).

Guys think that having a cute dog nearby can help them pick up girls. Clearly, this is a romantic strategy that can easily backfire. XD

Velma's behavior was reasonable for the first 3 or so episodes. I think she just got frustrated with Shaggy treating her like a dirty little secret and lashed out by being a shrew. It doesn't excuse a lot of her behavior. But it does make it a bit easier to understand why she went from zero to bunny boiler so quickly.

Scooby's turn just confused me because earlier episodes seemed to imply that Scooby knew about the relationship and was OK with it. So having him hold such a bitter grudge felt like it came out of nowhere. And the fact that he blamed VELMA for the lie (even though she wanted to be honest with him from day one) just made it all the more infuriating.

In short, Scooby and Velma may have behaved like asses. But I think Shaggy shoulders most of the blame for choosing to hide the relationship in the first place.
It would be easier to pass judgement if the show would tell us exactly HOW they got together. At first it seemed like Velma twisted his arm and forced him into the relationship. But later episodes revealed that Shaggy is a man-whore. So it's hard to say. :P

I think I've said before that Shaggy treated her like a dirty little secret because they were just friends for the longest time, so he was never sure getting into a relationship with her was right. In his mind, he just might be doing something wrong and he felt dirty about it. Still, he should've tried to clear things up with Velma the moment he noticed her acting like a bunny boiler.

He was angry for Shaggy flat out ditching him to be with Velma at times. But he was so psycho that he took it out on HER instead of his beloved Shaggy. Except for that one time where he replaced Shaggy with a dummy, but that was creepy. Oh, and the WTF "CHEATING ON ME?" line was angry and directed towards him too. XD

Shaggy started a fire, Velma and Scooby added fuel to it. That's the best way to describe it.

It's a bit hard to assign blame when we don't know how the relationship started. If Velma started it and Shaggy just didn't have the guts/heart to straight up reject her, then I'd feel more sympathy for him. But if he came on to her and just didn't want to make a commitment, then he's a douchebag.
