Lost Final Fantasy comic!!!

In one of my old Disney comics (a book from 1991) I saw this ad for a Final Fantasy comic book featuring art by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola! It looks like Kingdom Hearts wasn't the first Disney/Square cross-over after all!



...Naturally, I was intrigued. But upon searching, I found out that this comic never made it to press. Neither of the sites I buy from had it listed and the only hits I got from search engines were other people who saw this ad in a Disney comic and were also trying to figure out if this thing actually existed or not.

I'm a little disappointed that this thing was never published. It looks like it would have been gloriously campy (check the mullet on the upper left)!

But, it may have solved what was so Final about the Fantasy! Also, I'm sad that the art there is much better (in my opinion) than the direction the series has taken. They look like actual adults! o_O

I liked the grown up main characters, too (though I could do without the mullets). I also enjoyed the lack of pointless belts and zippers. XD

Exactly! Sometimes I wonder why they have such a fascination with the mass amount of zippers and belts. And exposed male chests. Monsters would get right past that stuff, unless poor fashion sense makes them loose their appetites... o_O

Fashion savvy monsters may be scared of those outfits; but I don't know how many of those are running around in the forests/dungeons/whatever.

When I see a really outrageous Tetsuya Nomura costume design, all I can think is...
"Going to the bathroom must be REALLY difficult when your pants have 4 zippers, 6 belts, and strappy things all over the place!"
