Doodled these a while ago and just got around to scanning them....

The Gender Bent Scooby Gang!

Since the Scooby Gang gets rebooted every couple of years, part of me holds out hope that WB will one day follow Adventure Time's lead and have one episode/movie/whatever where they switch the characters' genders. If nothing else, it would be interesting. And it might be a good thing to try when the dreaded day comes where Frank Welker can no longer be a part of the show.

I even have ideas about what the AU versions of them would be like....

=Girl-Shaggy would be the girly girl of the group (think a scruffier version of Fluttershy)
=Girl-Fred would be the tomboy. She'd basically be a wild Nancy Drew type who has no idea how hot she actually is.
=Boy-Velma would have a lot of insecurities since being the shortest/youngest member of a group is a MUCH bigger stigma for a boy than it is for a girl. So the snarky personality would be there to compensate for it
=Boy-Daphne would be very metro. Sadly, his fashion flair would cause most people (even Girl-Fred?) to assume he's gay. So he'd have trouble getting dates

Maybe I should do some comics about the concept. Because it amuses me WAY more than it has any right to! But for now, have some scribbles....

I didn't have time to ink and polish this one. But I HAD to post it anyway because I love Pup so damn much!

I hope you guys like them!! Tell me what ya think!

It would be AWESOME if they did a gender bent episode like Adventure Time did. I can totally see Shaggy being the Fluttershy of the group. (I wish that Adventure Time would do another gender bent episode just for fun. I loved Fiona!)

I really hope Adventure Time does another Fiona episode, too. They did a surprisingly good job developing the AU characters considering it was just a one-shot nonsense episode.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of drawing more of these AU Scooby comics. The only tough thing is figuring out what Shaggy's girl name would be. I guess "Shaggy" could work for a girl, too. But something like "Rapunzel" would be cuter.

For some reason I just thought of the word "Rags" for female Shaggy. I don't know why I thought of it, but it kind of fits. XD
