According to the trailer, these kid's can't dance to save their lives. Way to reinforce stereotypes about White people, gang!

And this song clip from the movie doesn't fill me with much hope. WB clearly made a HUGE mistake when they fired the band that wrote the awesome music for Abracadabra Doo and Camp Scare.

However, the lyric that slammed "Comic Con geeks" was kind of offensive. Seriously Warner Brothers, what have we ever done to you (except spend tons of money on your products)?
Though I suppose the people running this franchise just secretly hate Con geeks or something. Case in point, the creators behind the-show-that-shall-not-be-named described their horrific, Bizarro version of Velma as a "Comic Con Girl" (no, really, those were their exact words) despite the fact that she never expressed an interest in comics, cons, or anything else that wasn't attached to some douchebag's penis. So maybe they just have a secret vendetta against us Con geeks. :(
However, on the plus side, whatever actress they hired to sing for Velma was actually pretty good (her singing sounded OK and she seems to do a decent job of mimicking Mindy Cohn's voice).

Date: 2012-02-06 07:37 pm (UTC)Anyway, I really don't get what Warner Bros problem is with us geeks. We do give them money, you would think they would bother to be bit nicer to one of the larger sources of income. @_@
You know what I think would be awesome, if they did a show about female geeks and explores all the issues we have to deal with. I know it probably won't ever be made, but I can dream can't I?

Date: 2012-02-06 08:15 pm (UTC)Anyhoo, all you missed was the Scooby gang talking about visiting a vampire festival, Shaggy freaking out about said festival, and then the gang proceeding to sing a dopey song and dance like dorky White people (which isn't nearly as funny as you would think it is).
That would be such a cool idea for a show! Though I can't imagine any mainstream network doing something like it. Even if they did make one that was decently written; the cast would likely consist of skinny, impossibly hot actresses made up to look like sexy librarians ('cause that's what all nerdy girls look like!!).
