You thought that racy Birds of Prey number from Batman: The Brave and the Bold had some wicked double entendres? Check out 'Hot Rod Lover' by the Facts of Life girls!
And, before you say anything, you're right. Hearing Mindy Cohn (the current VA for Velma Dinkley) sing about having a "backseat Romeo" amuses me to no end! (and is helping to fuel the slight girl-crush I have on Mindy Cohn) ^_^;
Even though I'm too young to feel nostalgia for The Facts of Life (it was canceled when I was just a toddler and I don't remember ever watching it as a kid), I've recently fallen in love with it thanks to Netflix and YouTube. This show gets made fun of a lot for being cheesy--and don't get me wrong, it can be VERY cheesy--but I really love it! The early seasons hold up surprisingly well. And the garish 80s hair and fashion aren't even that bad until around the fifth season.
The chemistry between the four lead actresses (Lisa Welchel, Nancy McKeon, Kim Fields, and Mindy Cohn) is just amazing. And it helps that they're all REALLY talented and charming! What I like best about this show is that all the girls (from the leads to the background characters) look like real people. Compare the skinny, plastic girls that make up today's teen shows to the Facts of Life girls and it's no contest. I remember all the jokes from back in the day about these girls being 'The Fats of Life' and, now that I've watched the show, those jokes piss me off. They were so young at the time and it's a miracle that none of them ended up with an eating disorder!

Anyhoo, if you have some time to kill, I HIGHLY recommend watching this episode (titled: Take My Finals, Please). It's the best episode of the show (that I know of) and you don't even need to know much about the show or characters to get some fun out of it. The episode consists entirely of the girls sitting in their dorm studying for finals. And being in close quarters really gives these actresses a chance to shine and show off how awesome they are when they're just bouncing off each other. The best part is when Blair starts reading from a trashy romance novel. And I wish I had Natalie's exam hat!

I loved watching Living Single when I was a kid. So it was amusing to see Kim Fields as a little girl playing this totally innocent and naive character (her character in Living Single was basically a Blacker and bitchier version of Blair XD)
And the selfish part of me is sad that Lisa Welchel gave up acting after The Facts of Life ended. I know she's happy living a quiet life as the leader of a Christian mothers' group. But she had so much freakin' talent! I would have loved to see her tackle other types of roles!
