These two glorious comic book pages have fulfilled one of my childhood dreams:

---

Darkwing and Scrooge have FINALLY appeared together!!!!! ^_^
I wish they could have had more interaction. But hopefully we'll get some of that in later issues now that Scrooge has appointed Launchpad to be the new CEO of Quackworks (I'm assuming that's a figurehead position because this is Launchpad we're talking about).

Scrooge McDuck is officially the coolest Disney character ever. He took control of the evil, dictatorial mega-corporation after the Government declared it "too big to fail" (I LOVED that joke) and fixed the ailing St. Canard in about a week with his own personal brand of badass capitalism.

The only thing that could possibly make this better is if this story arc were animated and Alan Young was still rocking Scrooge (PLEASE do it, Disney! Alan Young isn't getting any younger!).

Seeing Huey, Duey and Louie in the background made me flashback to that episode where Scrooge went forward in time and they had become cutthroat businessmen... Horrors!

Seeing this really makes me wish I had money. The art alone is a joy to look at! They did a really good job being consistent with the art from the series.

And agreed on Alan Young. It's going to be a sad day when he passes away. I just hope if he's ever replaced, they use an honest to goodness Scot to voice the part. (Alan Young did a great job of it, but he lived in Scotland when he was young. I bet he never thought it would help his acting career!)

I remember that episode. Seeing Huey, Dewey, and Louie grow up to be ruthless jerks was sad. But I loved how cool it made Adult-Webby out to be.

This comic is one of the few indulgences I blow money on and it is so worth it! The art blows me away, too. The artist (James Silvani) does a great job of making the characters look on model without making it look like he's copying the poses off a model sheet (a lot of other licensed comics I've seen had that problem).

I didn't know Alan Young grew up in Scotland (though it does make sense). No wonder he's so good at it.
I hear Young's voice every time I read a Scrooge comic and it kills me to think that he might never get to voice the character again. My biggest fear is that, once he's retired or died (which hopefully won't be for a while!), Disney will do something stupid like hire Mike Myers to replace him. >_<

Oh yeah, but it was still so weird seeing the 'kids' all grown up! Perhaps most shocking was hearing such deep voices coming from their mouths. ^_-

I think that's what I really love about seeing this, you can tell the artist can actually draw on model without copying from a character sheet. That's a skilled artist right there (since model sheets only have so many poses, facial expressions, etc.) and it's a real treat for the eyes! Nice to know Disney still goes for quality even in its comics.

I wish I remembered where I saw/read about Alan Young and his getting the part for Scrooge... Maybe on the Mickey's Christmas Carol DVD, or something... Regardless, he's not Scottish but obviously lived there long enough to pick up the accent. I have to wonder what true Scots think of his portrayal of Scrooge McDuck. ^_-

(Bah! Not Mike Meyer! If anything, I'd not be surprised if Craig Ferguson got a role like that. He's actually been doing voice work for Disney off and on, from the energy vampire in the Buzz Lightyear cartoon, to more recently voicing Owl in an upcoming Pooh feature. I'm still curious to hear his portrayal there.)

I do hope that Epic Mickey does well and the man behind it gets the greenlight to make a Ducktales game. Something to let Alan Young reprise his role before he dies!

I thought about Craig Ferguson, too. I didn't know he was the new voice of Owl (I'll have to check out that new Pooh movie now!). I would be OK with him taking the role after Alan Young (especially if he can get close to Young's tone).
I'm just very fearful about Disney recasting classic characters ever since they dropped the ball when replacing the original actors for Baloo and Princess Aurora. >_<

Having Young voice Scrooge for a new Ducktales game would totally rock. When I played Kingdom Hearts 2 a few years ago, I was really mad when Scrooge showed up but didn't have any spoken dialogue. Hearing Young's voice would have at least made that game slightly more tolerable. -_-

I remember that episode of Ducktales and have the exact same thoughts. Adult Webby was awesome.

I can't wait for the graphic novel of this arc to come out. I heard about the last two pages too with Magica DeSpell. That is going to wicked awesome. I haven't picked up the series in individual issue form because the first print run completely sold out.

Oh, this art is just splendid. Curse you, Boom, for finally turning me into a Darkwing fan as an adult! ^_~
