According to comic vine and other nerdy news sites, a small comic company is releasing a Darkwing Duck 4 issue mini-series this month!! O_o

I wish I knew who the writer is. I'd be more excited about this if I knew the writer was a good one (**please be Tad Stones**).
I'm VERY surprised to see this news considering that the only other Disney Afternoon show to get a recent comic (Gargoyles) didn't sell well despite having a religiously devout fanbase and it's own freakin' convention. I suppose they're trying to use Darkwing to latch on to the current Superhero/Batman fad. But that's a bit of a stretch.
I wonder if this will lead to other Disney Afternoon shows getting comics. I know I'd be on cloud nine if I could see Talespin get a proper send-off in comic form. Talespin doesn't get nearly as much praise and love as it deserves (the animation on the planes is breathtaking even by TODAY'S standards!). And it still breaks my heart that it didn't get a movie or a finale episode.

Volume 2 of the graphic novels is just about impossible to find. I heard it was only released at some conventions. @_@ I don't think Disney was giving it that much support (it felt like Fox and Firefly all over again). It's sad though because the comic was good and we were finally getting to see the stories Greg had planned for years but never got to be animated.
I think Darkwing Duck will do better since it's being published by Boom comic and they're other Disney comics have been doing well. (Example: Toy Story, The Incredible, The Muppet Show, etc) If it does do well, it would be awesome to see more of the Disney afternoon shows to be published.
For me, I would love to see Tale Spin and Gummi Bears get published as comics (although, I can see why they wouldn't do Gummi Bears since it did get somewhat a proper ending.)

Yeah. If I could only pick one Disney Afternoon show to get a new comic series, it would be Talespin. Mainly because it still bugs me that Talespin never got a proper finale or a movie despite having a SPECTACULAR setting, an epic scope, and complex characters.
.....and my inner child still wishes she could see Baloo and Becky get together in canon. ^_^;
