RIP Brittany Murphy

A customer told me that Brittany Murphy died this morning and I was absolutely shocked! I adored the movie Clueless when I was in middle school and King of the Hill has been one of my favorite shows since it premiered back in the early 1990s. I didn't realize until now that I've been hearing her voice every week for the past 15 years! 

I feel so bad for her family. Especially her brother because, according to the LA Times, he heard about her death on the internet before his family members could tell him!

It's shocking that a 32-year-old could suddenly die from a heart attack. I hope that illegal drugs didn't play a part in her untimely passing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a natural death is any less tragic. I'd just hate to see another talented young star stupidly kill themselves with drugs like Heath Ledger did.


Rest in peace, Brittany. Tonight, I shall marathon my King of the Hill DVDs in your honor.

I heard on the news that one of the reasons most likely was her regular use of drugs.....which sux...since she is an amazing actress!
But I totally agree...it doesn't seem real that she died....and I wish it hadn't been of illegal drugs....and of course I wish it hadn't happened at all!!!! But it did....so RIP Brittany Murphy....we still love you!!!!

I heard on the news that she was taking medication for a legitimate medical condition (I think it was diabetes) and that might have been the cause of her death. But at this point it's all gossip and speculation. So we probably won't know what really happened for a while.

But you're right. It's still terribly sad no matter what caused it. And the fact that she died a few days before Christmas just makes it even more depressing.

I heard about it last night from my dad. I'm just as shocked. I didn't really follow her career, but I adored her in Clueless and like you only now know she voiced Luanne in King of the Hill. I'm surprised I didn't catch it sooner! It's also unsettling since she's only about five years older than I am...

I didn't really follow her film career either since most of her movies weren't my cup of tea (Sin City, 8 Mile, dumb romantic comedies, etc).
And I just found out from scanning her IMDB profile that she also voiced Joseph in the early seasons of King of the Hill! She had a lot more talent and range than I thought she did! O_o

It's weird that I feel so bad about this even though I was never a huge "fangirl" when it came to her or her work outside of King of the Hill.

I feel the same way! Especially since, at least for now, it appears that she died from natural causes.
