Fan-comic: Sly 4...in a nutshell

*sigh*

I had just about gotten over my fangirl rage at the-show-that-shall-not-be-named for character-assassinating beloved cartoon icons and sinking one of my favorite ships (mainly because Cartoon Network rightfully treated that show like crap). So, wouldn't you know it, another reboot had to come along and slap my inner child AND my inner feminist across the face with bad writing and sexism.

Parodying the classic "Dallas Shower Ret-con" helped me cope with watching Velma Dinkley get screwed by a bad reboot (see her comic here). So I used it again to help me deal with watching another awesome nerd couple get ruthlessly shot with their own canon.






I should have known that Sly 4 would suck when I got my first look at their rebooted version of Carmelita (the badass cop from the original trilogy)....

Please forgive my ranting. I just....can't believe this happened again. :(

To Tumblr or not to Tumblr....

So, one of my Deviant Art friends asked to put my recent "Sexism in Games" comic on her tumblr to spread the word about it (here's the post). And now I'm kinda tempted to get my own Tumblr page just so I can respond to some of the comments it garnered there (since using her as my personal Tumblr mouthpiece seems unfair).

On the one hand, Tumblr is apparently good for artsy folks like myself. And it garners more visibility

On the other hand....Tumblr fandoms are batshit insane! And the increased visibility comes with a higher likelihood of attracting assholes and flamers. A lot of them wandered onto my DA page (since the tumblr post linked back to it) and felt compelled to explain why mocking sexist redesigns with humor makes me a man-hating, fun-loathing feminazi.

So, here's my question to all of you who have a Tumblr page: Is it worth it? Do the positives outweigh the negatives?
