Pony Art (playing with colors!)

These pictures were mainly an excuse to dust off my colored pencils and play around with colors again. And humanizing pony characters is just WAY more fun than it has any right to be.




Derpy Ditzy Doo Controversy Pony & Octavia




I always liked the idea of Derpy being a "hot dumb blonde" type character (kind of a combination of Kelly Bundy and Hello Nurse). I just think it works really well (too bad the actual show went in a less....amusing direction :P)


Next up is Mayor Mare and Gilda



I think I unconsciously channeled the Mayor of South Park when I drew the Pony Mayor.
I have nothing special to say about Gilda except that she was a TON of fun to draw.



Next up is Fluttershy...


I think the "waif hippie in a flowing sundress" look fits the character better. But the idea of Human-Fluttershy hiding behind Islamic-type garb and substituting her hair with a long pink scarf was too interesting not to draw.
