NO! NOT DON ROSA!!

I just found out that the man who wrote and drew my favorite comic book is losing his eyesight:
I had the good fortune to literally stumble on Don Rosa at Comic Con about 5 years ago. I had no idea he would be there. I went to his booth simply because I saw Scrooge books there. He asked me if I wanted a drawing and I didn't realize who he was until I looked down at his Convention badge (I had no idea what he looked like until that moment)!! I was so dumbstruck that I was barely able to mutter out a request for a picture of Scrooge (looking back, I wish I had requested a picture of me as a Duckburg citizen). He made this for me in about 3 minutes...
---

...I cherished this picture already. But now it's even more precious to me. I want to encourage everyone who hasn't already to pick up The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck (sadly, it appears to be out of print. So you might want to check the library for it). Even if you're not a fan of Disney or Ducktales; Life and Times is a solid, wonderful story that stands up on it's own (and the companion book is just as good). If you read it, you'll understand why this news is so upsetting to me.
BTW, this should be a lesson to everyone reading this who currently wears glasses. I know I'll never skip my regular eye exams again!
