I was thinking of doing two different endings for the "Sly 5" scenario since I have a different vision of how it should end than you do.
Basically, I like the idea of Sly accepting that he can't change the way things are without screwing up all the good things he already has. So he makes peace with his father and then lets everything go back to the way it was (including the attack that killed his parents).
Your idea of saving Mr and Mrs Cooper and having them adopt Bentley and Murray is sweet. But I'm not too keen on it because it would essentially make it so the first 3 games didn't happen. And it would erase all the character growth that centered around Bentley's accident and all the events in the third game (namely, Sly choosing to sacrifice his family legacy so that he and his friends can move on and have a shot at a normal life).
So, since this is just a collection of loose ideas anyway, I figure we can just write/draw both endings and let folks decide which they like best.
In gameplay terms, I guess we could say that Sly 5 gives the player a choice at some point (possibly during the Daddy-Cooper fight) to either put things back the way they were or have Sly arrange it so he can have his parents AND his "brothers" in his life.
