001: AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER

-Favorite character: Hard to say. I think it's a toss up between Toph and Sokka.

-Least Favorite character: I can't really think of any character I dislike all that much (in terms of how they were written/developed anyway).

-5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): I was one of the few fans who wasn't into shipping for this show. But if I had to pick...
Zuko/Earth Kingdom girl from the date episode.

-Character I find most attractive: Azula and Yue

-Character I would marry: Sokka seems like a fun husband. But Aang would probably be the best guy to grow old with

-An unpopular opinion: The Great Divide episode wasn't bad! Yeah, the moral was a bit too heavy-handed; but it was still fun and I don't get the hate for it.

-Non-canon OTP: Sozin/Roku. Because that unrequited crush sparked a FREAKIN' WAR! I guess that's what happens when entitled monarchs are forced to stay in the closet

-most badass character: Iroh

-pairing I am not a fan of: Zuko/Katara. Not because I don't think it would work (I wouldn't have been upset if it had become canon); but because that shipping fandom is F***ING CRAZY!

-character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I think Azula's decent into madness could have been handled a little better (it felt a bit sudden).

002: Shaggy Velma

-when of if I started shipping it: Possibly when I was a kid watching Pup Named Scooby Doo. But the first time I actually shipped them in the modern, "squeeing fangirl" sense was when I was a teenager re-discovering the Scooby franchise via Cartoon Network.

-my thoughts: I just like the idea of a couple where both people are off-beat looking nerds (you don't see a lot of those in fiction). And I just think the classic versions of the characters would have a very sweet, low-drama relationship

-What makes me happy about them: They're both just great, unique characters. And I think they could bring out the best in one another and change each other for the better. Shaggy could teach Velma to lighten up and Velma could nudge him into being less lazy and act like an adult once in a while.

-What makes me sad about them: That the first time they were canon the new writers decided to ROYALLY F**K UP THEIR ESTABLISHED PERSONALITIES AND TURN THEM BOTH INTO ASSHOLES just because they wanted to turn a beloved CHILDRENS' FRANCHISE into a goddam soap opera!!! &*$%#!!!

-things done in fanfic that annoys me: When Scooby is completely ignored. A lot of writers seem to forget he exists when writing this couple because they don't feel like coming up with an explanation for why he isn't around when Shaggy and Velma start confessing their feelings/making out/whatever.

-things I look for in fanfic: I like a little fluff, but not too much. I also like stories that include Scooby being a BFF to both Shaggy AND Velma and totally supporting their relationship because it helps soothe the pain left behind by the-show-that-shall-not-be-named.

-Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
I think Velma/Fred could work in certain canons (mainly, What's New Scooby Doo). I also kinda wish she had a fling with the cute prince from the Where's My Mummy DTV.

Shaggy/Crystal was pretty cute, too.


-My happily ever after for them: They get married after leaving behind the mystery solving business. Velma works as a contract scientist (probably for NASA) and Shaggy works as a professional dog trainer. They have a bunch of dorky kids that Scooby happily babysits. And they live in the same neighborhood as Daphne and Fred because those four are hopelessly co-dependent even without the mystery business keeping them together. ^_^

003: Bobby Hill

-How I feel about this character: I think he's great. He's a really sweet kid and I like how his development was handled in the show. I would love to have a kid like him.
My favorite moment was when he cheered up his mother after she was so upset about someone insulting her huge feet that she wouldn't leave the house. He basically told her,
"Mom. I'm fat. I know it and I'm OK with it. I could let the bullies get to me and spend my life crying in my room. But I decided to get over it and focus on my comedy because that's what I'm good at. And now I have an awesome best friend and a great girlfriend. I wouldn't have those things if I stayed in my room and let the bullies win. You're awesome, and you need to stop letting jerks tell you how to feel about yourself."


-All the people I ship romantically with this character: Connie is the only one I can see him with. Though that could just be because almost every other girl he dated turned out to be crazy and/or a terrible person. XD

-My non-romantic OTP for this character: I like how he managed to soften Cotton's character. Considering what a wuss Bobby is; an old-fashioned, good ol' boy misogynist like Cotton should have hated his guts. But Bobby managed to win him over. I like to think Bobby helped make Cotton slightly less of an asshole (even if neither of them ever realized it).

-My unpopular opinion about this character: King of the Hill doesn't seem to have a "fandom" (at least not in the common sense of the word). So I don't know what fanon theories are popular and unpopular.

-One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
1. I was mad when we never got to see Bobby's reaction to Cotton's death. They were pretty close; but we never got to see Bobby being sad or mourning for him. The writers should have put Bobby in the episode where Hank had to fulfill Cotton's last wishes instead of wasting time on that stupid b-plot about Dale and Bill tagging along and getting in a fight.

2. In the second to last episode, it bothered me that Bobby never even considered Connie when he was desperate for a date for the dance.
In general, I would have liked to see Bobby and Connie get back together. They were adorable.


-my het ship: Connie/Bobby

-my fem/slash ship: The show makes it VERY clear that Bobby is 110% straight. So I can't slash him with anyone.

-my OTP: Again, Connie/Bobby.

-my OT3: In a platonic, completely non-romantic sense? Connie/Bobby/Joseph. I like all the episodes that involve them going on adventures together

-my cross over ship: Can't think of any.

-a head canon fact: I have two...
1. Bobby is a LOT more like his father than anybody realizes. When he grows up, he'll pretty much be a FAR less uptight version of Hank. And he'll likely get a normal job (like selling propane) and chase one of his crazy dreams on the side.

2. He and Connie will get back together when they're older and they'll spend years in an on again off again, "Ross&Rachael" style relationship before moving in together and/or getting married. Khan and Hank will both lose their minds at the prospect of being in-laws and Bobby and Connie will enjoy watching them freak out.

001: Jem and the Holograms

-Favorite character: Stormer. She had the most dimension (and the nicest voice)

-Least Favorite character: Rio. He was a cheating, hypocritical douchebag with a hair-trigger temper and I don't know why Jerrica stayed with him

-Character I would marry: Yeah. 'Cause that show totally needs MORE romantic drama! LOL

-Character I would be best friends with: Kimber. Because she's just a big ball of energy and fun

-a random thought: This show was so NOT appropriate for it's target audience!

-An unpopular opinion: The Stingers marked the "jump the shark" moment for the show. They weren't bad characters. But when they arrived, the Misfits got neutered and it would have been better if the Misfits had bailed to start their own indie company (it's not like they didn't have enough cash to do it) or disbanded. At least that way they would have kept their dignity

-my canon OTP: Stormer/Kimber (c'mon, the show implied it pretty heavily) ~_^

-Non-canon OTP: Kimber/everybody (I love Kimber. But she was more or less this show's token "bicycle")

-most badass character: Riot. The one thing I like about him was that he was the first character to call out Rio's bullshit and tell Jem, "Isn't Rio JERRICA'S boyfried? He has no right to pursue you and chase away your suitors when he's already dating somebody!".
Hard to believe that the first character to criticize Rio for cheating on his girlfriend was a sleazy man-slut like Riot.

-pairing I am not a fan of: Rio/Jerrica. That relationship was horribly unhealthy and the show would have been better off if they had either broken up or let the secret out from the get-go.

-character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): PIZAZZ! I HATE the way she was neutered and humiliated by Riot to make room for the Stingers. It's just so out-of-character for her to get spurned by a guy and then let said guy continue treating her like shit! I don't see why the two "bad bands" couldn't co-exist without tearing one of them down.

-favourite friendship: Kimber and Stormer.

-character I want to adopt or be adopted by: Emmet Benton

I do wish we could have seen more episodes with Stomer/Kimber. I rewatched the episode in which they become friends and they had a good relationship there. (And yeah, I can totally see them as a couple too. XD)

002: Lina and Gourry

-when I started shipping it: I was sold by the end of the first (of many) Rezo arc

-my thoughts: I think its one of the more well-developed fictional couples. I just wish they weren't both so ridiculously stubborn when it came to admitting it

-What makes me happy about them: They're just fun. And I like that the show never did any stupid love triangle stories with them (Sylphiel and Kuppi don't really count since they were clearly never serious contenders for Gourry's affection)

-What makes me sad about them: That the writers copped out at the end of NEXT. I understand why they had to do it, but it still sucks.

-things done in fanfic that annoys me: Turning Lina into a weepy damsel and having both of them act like characters from a bad soap opera

-things I look for in fanfic: Fluff that doesn't stray too far out of character or lay the romantic melodrama on too thick

-Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I think Lina/Zelgadis could have easily happened if Lina hadn't been established with Gourry before she met him. They're obviously very comfortable around each other and I've read a few good stories where they work out. Though most of those stories tend to be bittersweet ones about both of them out living Gourry and Amelia by many years and finding comfort in each other.

Also, I'm probably the ONLY one who feels this way, but I thought I saw hints of Amelia/Gourry the first time I watched her intro episodes.


-My happily ever after for them: They get married (possibly a shotgun wedding after Lina gets knocked up). They settle close to Lina's hometown, run a business, and raise a family together.

And, in my head-canon, the business they open is a badass magic academy and Lina enlists her friends and children as employees because she can talk them into taking a lower salary. XD

Yeah. It really bugged me when their friendship seemed to be totally forgotten in future episodes. I mean, they quit their respective bands to be together (and Kimber ditched her own freakin' sister!). That kind of thing should be followed up on!

003: Chloe (Tales of Legendia)
It's been a few years since I played the game, but I think I can remember enough for this. :)


--How I feel about this character: She was one of the few bright spots in a terrible, TERRIBLE game.


--All the people I ship romantically with this character: I think she's too good for all of them. XD


--My non-romantic OTP for this character: Aside from Chloe, the only other characters that didn't make me want to throw my controller through the screen were Moses, Grune, and Norma. Those four should have left to start their own adventure early on and left Senel and Shirley to fend for themselves.


--My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't know enough about the fandom to say what opinions are "popular" (I glanced at it once after playing the game), but I'll put this one anyway because I NEVER saw anyone besides us express outrage over it...
Chloe should NOT have forgiven her parents' killer. She should have told her bleeding heart friends and the killer's dingbat daughter to "FUCK OFF" and let her get some well deserved, long overdue justice!!
I know the point of that story arc was to express the cliche "eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" moral. But that guy deserved to die. Not only did he kill Chloe's parents (two innocent people who did nothing to provoke him) in front of her just so he could steal the contents of their carriage. He expressed NO REMORSE when confronted about it years later and justified the crime by basically saying,
"Me and my daughter were struggling with poverty and illness and rich fat cats like your parents didn't give a damn. So I killed them in front of their child even though they didn't resist me when I stole their money because I AM THE 99%!!!"

The rest of the cast basically guilt-tripped Chloe for having the audacity to believe that someone who committed a heinous crime (and wasn't even sorry about it) deserved punishment. They pressured her into forgiving the bastard because they believed that the fact that he loved his daughter redeemed him. And, in the end, Chloe gave into the pressure and let him off the hook without even demanding a proper apology or asking the proper authorities to lock him in a prison cell.

BULLSHIT!!! She should not have caved to their pressure! She should have killed him and schooled them all on the merits of a proper criminal justice system. And then she should have explained to the dingbat daughter that she's better off not being in the same house with a blood-thirsty sociopath and directed her to the nearest foster home.


--One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: **see above rant**
I also wish she had put Shirley out of everyone's misery after the little brat decided she wanted to become 'Mermaid Hitler'.


--my het ship: If I had to pick one...Chloe/Moses. Because he's the only male character who didn't completely suck (and he kinda reminds me of Shaggy LOL)


--my fem/slash ship: Chloe/Norma, I suppose.


--my OTP: I don't strongly ship her with anyone

--my OT3: don't have one.

--my cross over ship: Maybe she, Luke, and Ashe could attend group therapy to help them with their issues. XD


--a head canon fact: After the events in the game were over, she snuck into the killer's house and poisoned him or something. That way, she gets her revenge without the annoyance of being guilt-tripped.

Funny enough, Chloe, Moses, Grune and Norma where what Stu and I had in our party because they were the only characters we enjoyed.

*sigh* We didn't get to that part of the game with Chloe parents, but it doesn't make sense because he doesn't sound like a redeemable character at all. By that logic, Rezo should have been excused for his evil deeds because he was blind. @_@ They could have a least have Chloe decide not to kill him because it would be reducing herself to his level or something like that, but the guy should have been punished in somewhat. It's just not right.

What annoys me the most about the game is that the plot had promise in the beginning, but the writers screwed up badly. Heck, if you ignored the second half of the game after the time skip of the few months, that would have been a good place to end the whole game.

You and I have ranted about the Shirley issue before (I swear she looked like an angry squirrel when the group confronts her) but she still makes me rant.

She could have been a sympathetic character, but deciding to cause genocide because the guy she likes doesn't return her feelings EVEN THOUGH she's meet other people of the same race wanted to be her friend... I just don't get why so many people like her as a character.

I wish the first ending had been the last one, too. Most of the character epilogues didn't add much to the story and the Chloe epilogue just made me hate ALL the characters.

I'm pretty sure the game used the "don't reduce yourself to his level" explanation. The game tried to make it look like Chloe would be just as much of a monster if she killed the guy and made his daughter an orphan. But it's not the same situation because Chloe's parents did nothing wrong. So, basically, this game is saying that people who commit crimes shouldn't receive any punishment if they have children who love and depend on them.


I just HATED Shirley so much. Not only was she annoying; she was a selfish brat! She had no compassion for the fact that Senel was still mourning his fiancee. She had no reservations about trying to hook up with a man who was intimately involved with her sister. And the first time Senel told her "NO", she tried to start a genocide to wipe out his entire race! And the game expects us to feel BAD for her and root for her to get what she wants!? WTF!?
