Velma has finally had enough of being saddled with crappy love interests!!
Needless to say, this comic reveals the culprit in Camp Scare. So don't read it unless you've seen the movie or you don't care about having the ending spoiled for you.

I gave Freddie an old-fashioned video camera because I think it fits the old-fashioned thing he had going on in the movie. Plus big bulky cameras are just funnier looking (and easier to draw) than those newfangled digital mini cams!
BTW, this comic counts as another Velma Dinkley Appreciation Day piece. ~_^

Date: 2010-10-20 10:16 pm (UTC)*sigh* Really, the show's only big fault in the characterizations of Velma and Shaggy, besides that it's a good show. Everything else is awesome. I'm planning to stick with it to the end. Who know, maybe it will shock us all.
(Oh, as a fellow Scooby fan, I wanted to know your opinion on Scooby Doo and the goblin king. I always thought it was one of the weaker movies. What are your thoughts?)

Date: 2010-10-20 10:51 pm (UTC)Don't forget poor Scooby's character assassination! The recent episode redeemed him a little (I won't say how 'cause I don't want to spoil it for you ~_^). But I still can't believe how this show added a creepy new dimension to Shaggy and Scooby's sweet "boy and his dog" relationship. >_<
As much as I rip on this show, I can't give up on it until I find out what the secret of Crystal Cove is. And I'm still in love with this show's versions of Fred and Daphne.
I didn't like the Goblin King movie at all. It was just too weird for me. I mean, the gang dealing with zombies and witches is one thing, but mystical fairy lands!? WTF? I also don't see why the writers even bothered putting Fred, Daphne, and Velma in the movie if they weren't going to do anything with them.
Goblin King felt a lot like one of those old Scooby specials I watched as a kid where it was just Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy going on a random adventure (usually involving werewolves and/or ghosts). I liked them when I was 5-years-old, but I can't stand to watch them now. I imagine Goblin King will be remembered like that by the young kids who are enjoying it today.

The whole thing just felt silly to me. Plus, the reveal at the end of the fairy princess being the goblin king's daughter had me ranting to Stu for awhile. When you think about it, it made the whole plot pointless.
The writers were probably trying to be cute by throwing that in, but that means there was no need for Scooby and Shaggy to steal the steaff from the king if he was just going to rescue his own daughter. Besides, the goblin king was probably going to pretend to hand over the staff, but then grab both the staff and the stupid fairy. He is a goblin after all. So, there was no great need for Scooby and Shaggy int his. @_@

Date: 2010-10-21 04:47 am (UTC)It didn't even occur to me that the video camera was "old fashioned" until I read your comments below. If you asked me to draw a movie camera, that's exactly how I would draw it, because that's how they look in my head!
