When the character of Luna was introduced, I though for sure she was going to wind up with Harry. Because the interactions rocked. Ginny did lack that...something. And revealing that she only had a backbone to hide her wounded soul made me dislike the character (seriously, I liked her until they said that. I though she was adorable in the second book). The worse part is that some people are like that. And it doesn't say much about Harry that he goes for a girl who is fully pining for him, looks like his mom and ties his shoes (HOW was that romantic?) I have to agree that it was kinda badly handled. You need a specific type of interaction to form a good couple (Harry and Hermione don't have it either.)
