I think that pose combined with the song title says it all. ~_^

The episode where they left their respective bands to make it as a duo (The Bands Break Up) caused this to become one of my favorite crack-ships. I’ve always subscribed to the fanon theory that Stormer was gay (she kinda gave off that “vibe”, y’know?). And this episode provides a hell of a lot of evidence to support that theory. Just try and tell me that there’s not a Sapphic sexual undertone to this music video (specifically, the things Stormer’s band mates sing about):

Seriously, Jem and the Holograms got away with showing some crazy romantic melodrama to little girls. If Stormer and Kimber were canon, they’d be the most normal, well-adjusted couple on the show!

Funnily enough, I'm enjoying this series again because one of my favorite webcomic artists is doing a Doctor Who/Jem crossover ... and it WORKS. Seriously though, despite growing up watching this (and yes, I own it on DVD now), I don't remember ever hearing anything about this! Then again, the internet didn't exist at the time...

LOL. Don't worry about making me feel old. This show was a bit before my time, too. I have very vague memories of watching Jem and/or Barbie and the Rockers (remember THAT abomination?) as a toddler. But I didn't fall in love with the show until I discovered some bootleg videos in a convention dealers' room (this was before the DVDs were available).

I swear to God, I typically don't go looking for stuff like this in kiddie shows! But it's kinda hard NOT to think that Stormer is totally crushing on Kimber in this episode.

I heard about the Doctor Who/Jem fan-comic. But I put off checking it out because I know next to nothing about Doctor Who. Now that you've told me that complete knowledge of Who lore isn't necessary, I HAVE to start reading it. Thanks! ^_^

Riiiight.. You know you enjoy each and every moment you destroy another of my cherished childhood memories. ^_- And you might have a dirty mind. I tend not to see anything on anything until it beats me over the head, plus, I remember a lot of cartoons from yesteryear not being afraid of showing girls to be close friends. Hugging is innocent. Now, if they had started kissing on the lips....

Not a problem! They're still fairly early in the comic, and I can answer you any questions that you may have. The Doctor being portrayed is the Sixth Doctor (the one from 1984-86), which fits the era perfectly. I don't know much about him either, so it's been a good crash course for me too!
