"Slut" is really harsh. The book never tells us what Ginny's dates entailed. For all we know, the average Ginny Weasley date might have just been sitting together in the Hogwarts dining room and then getting a peck on the cheek before retuning to the dorms. ~_^
Honestly, I like Ginny as a character. I liked the way Ginny developed from a mousy, quiet girl who pined for Harry Potter and lived in her brothers' shadows to a confident, popular athlete with an active social/romantic life. It was cool to see her become such a tough character in the later books. Which is part of the reason I was so pissed when Book 6 abruptly reduced her to "Harry's Adoring Love Interest".
