I totally agree with Scrooge and Goldie! They were meant for each other and they are just adorable together (both in the comic and in the cartoon.)
(My friend Jon and I have discussed the Ginny and Harry pairing issue a few times.) It didn't surprise me when Harry ended up with Ginny, I honestly thought for a while before the last book that would be how Rowling would end it so Harry can have the big family he's always wanted. Also, Ginny is not a bad character.
I think the biggest flaw is in the delivery. Rowling should have have introduces Harry's feelings/interest towards her earlier instead of shoving everything near the end. I'm not saying have Ginny being the only girl on his mind, most teenagers date various people just like Ginny did, but Rowling should have drop hints of liking Ginny or just noticing her more and slowly have Harry realize he likes her as she grows up and dates other guys. Also, this would have also given more time for their relationship to develop more.
Anyway, the pairing itself isn't bad to me (I do think it's cute) it just should have been written stronger and given more time to develop.
