Confession time: I don't care what the haters say, I freakin' LOVE Final Fantasy X-2! I know the pop music is cheesy and the girls are all dressed in hideous, slutty fanservice costumes. But it's just so fun to play! And I love the positive, upbeat tone of the whole thing. And having an all-girl battle party for the entire duration of the game just kicked serious ass!
That said, I think the ending could have been improved if this scene had been added:

----

In case you haven't played the game, here is the actual (100%) ending this comic is based on:

Anyhoo, considering that the last time Tidus saw Yuna she looked like this:

I'm a little surprised he didn't say something when he saw her looking like this:

---

In Final Fantasy X, Tidus is the main character and Yuna is his token love-interest. Tidus is killed at the end of FFX; so the sequel features Yuna, her cousin Rikku, and their gal pal Paine working as freelancers doing a wide variety of odd jobs (monster hunting, treasure hunting, performing at concerts, saving the world again, etc). If you preform certain tasks and get the "100% ending", you can revive Tidus and get that sappy little reunion featured above. I'm a little ashamed to admit I thought that ending was super romantic when I saw it as a teenager. ^_^;

You know what else I love about this game? The fact that Yuna has maybe two or three brief angsty moments in the entire thing. Keep in mind, this is a girl who spent her entire life being groomed to be a sacrificial lamb to placate the Big Bad of the first game. And when she and her friends faced off against the Big Bad, the man she loved ended up dying so she didn't have to. You'd think she'd be a depressed mess over all that. But no. She's sad about her boyfriend and spends most of the sequel trying to solve the mystery behind a video of him that she found in a ruin; but she also laughs, goes to work, goes to concerts, chills out with her friends and family, and just generally has a good time and a good attitude. Cloud Strife could learn a thing or two from Yuna! In fact, 80% of JRPG protagonists could stand to get some counseling from her. ~_^
