Happy Meal toys could be banned in Santa Clara County

As someone who has a large collection of Happy Meal toys, I just want to say "Screw you, Santa Clara politicians! And screw you, too, Nanny State!". Honestly, was neutering Cookie Monster not enough for you!?

Urgh, why do they censor and remove everything? Kids are tougher then that! They are only weak and defenless because you don't let them learn!

Welcome to California, which has become so liberal it seems to be imploding on itself. It's not a pretty sight! I heard on the news the other day the toys are being banned to prevent children from buying and ingesting the food they come with, as a way to combat childhood obesity. (Nevermind kids can buy the toys separately as I and my sisters did since we didn't have money to always buy the meals to collect the toys.)

Yeah, I was gonna say, can't you buy them separately now? Seems a little weird.

Hey, here's an other idea to battle childhood obesity. Sports. Rather then banning everything, how about encouraging people to get off their butts, you know?

When I was about 12-14 years old I started collecting Happy Meal toys (especially when they were connected to something I liked, like the latest Disney movie). Half the time I just bought the toys by themselves because I wasn't hungry and/or I didn't feel like spending the extra money to get the burger and fries.

I hated sports when I was a kid. But my sister and I still enjoyed playing "street hockey" when we were little. Though I think I'm lucky I grew up without internet in my home. I imagine it would have kept me indoors and discouraged me from finding creative ways to entertain myself.
