Talespin Tablet Test
Nov. 1st, 2013 04:43 amIt’s been a while since I practiced on my new tablet. So I went and colored a simple sketch to play around with a fun idea I had.
Regarding Baloo’s design: I know that the “John Goodman look” fits his character/voice the best. That’s why pretty much every artist who humanizes the characters (myself included) has used that type of design. However, it occurred to me that, since Baloo and Shere Khan kept their Indian-sounding names from The Jungle Book, it technically makes more sense for their human dopplegangers to look Indian.
Also, I’m pretty sure no one else has drawn him like this before. So, +1 for originality. LOL
Tl;dr my goal with this one was to make Baloo look like an “Indian John Goodman”. I hope I succeeded.
