Special thanks to earthstar_moon for creating this meme. It's been a while since I've gushed about Slayers and it's nice to have an excuse to do it again!

1) Favorite Character

Gourry. He's really funny. And he manages to be the perfect fantasy guy (good looking, loyal, strong, sweet, etc) without coming across as a Gary Stu. That is a pretty impressive feat!

2) Least Favorite Character
I never liked the alien villains from TRY (Sirius, Erulogos, and Almayce). They weren't compelling as characters at all. And I was so bored by them the first time I watched TRY that I couldn't be bothered to remember exactly why they wanted to kill Lina and destroy her world (so I was confused every time they came on screen).

3) Favorite Opening Song

Give a reason. It's peppy. It's fun. It's exciting. And it helps set the tone for the show you're about to watch.
Also, it doesn't have any horrible, giggle-inducing Engrish. That's always a plus.

4) Favorite Ending Song
Do the OVAs count? If they do, I'll have to go with Midnight Blue from Slayers: The Motion Picture. It's a really beautiful, hypnotic song and it's a lot of fun to sing along to.

That said, I started taking it a bit less seriously when I watched the movie with the voice actress commentary and Cynthia Martinez and Kelly Manison pointed out how stupid the lyrics sound when you actually stop and read the English subtitles ("OH WIND! OH SKY! Tell me now!").
....seriously, even if you hate the OVA dubs, watch the ADV commentary. It's really freakin' funny! XD
