For anyone out there who has an interest in the Sly Cooper franchise but doesn't want to invest the time and/or money it would take to play one of the games, these comics are a great introduction. They were published by Sucker Punch (the company behind the original game trilogy) back in 2005 and are currently out of print. Both comics are pretty short; but they do a great job introducing the reader to the characters and making you WANT to see more of them.
tl;dr: If you love fun, cartoony, and innocent action shows in the vein of Ducktales or Talespin, you will like this. I promise! :)

More importantly, the comic book format allows the series' one female lead (Inspector Carmelita Fox) to be fleshed out in a way the games just couldn't do (since Carmelita wasn't a playable character in the games at the time). She's a great character in the games; but she just SHINES with awesomeness here.

Issue One (prequel to the first and second games)

....Did I mention that this book has GORGEOUS art? Because it does!

ISSUE 2
This one is set after the second game (which had a surprisingly dark ending...) and is meant to lead into the third.

Hat-tip to my pal [livejournal.com profile] ayarane for bringing this beautiful news to me! I love you, honey!

Here's the trailer. Look upon it and feel the nostalgia overcome you!!!!!

Best of all, according to Capcom's website, EVERY SURVIVING VOICE-ACTOR IS RETURNING!!!

That's right, even Alan Young and June Foray (who are both pushing 100 freakin' years old!!!) are coming back to us! I can honestly say that this news has made my year. Even if the game sucks ass, hearing Young and Foray portray these characters again will be well worth whatever price this game sells for!

I humanized the Sly 2 versions of The Cooper Gang because I suck at drawing Anthros...

For those who aren't familiar with the series, this is what they're supposed to look like...

My inner raging Sly Cooper fangirl was recently re-awakened. So expect more fanart down the line.

First up is Constable Neyla

Sadly, like my poor inner Scooby Doo fan, the inner Sly fan was roused because a recent reboot dropped a fridge directly on top of the ladies in the series. But that is a rant for another day.....

I just felt like sketching Carmelita and Penelope fighting together. And I opted to humanize them because I suck at drawing anthro characters I wanted to challenge myself artistically. It’s not perfect (I did it in pen, so I didn’t have the benefit of an eraser when I messed up); but I still like the way it came out.

One of the things I had hoped to see in Sly Cooper 4: Thieves in Time was some interaction between Carmelita and Penelope. As much as I adore this series, it was always a bit of a bummer that it had very few cool, non-villain female characters. I LOVED Penelope in Sly 3 and I was curious to see how she and Carmelita would relate to one another if they met in Sly 4 (my guess was that they would both spend hours complaining about the hideous new outfits they got stuck with).

Unfortunately…..

WARNING!!!! SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR SLY 4 BELOW!!!!

In light of the release of the newest Sly Cooper game (which I will review once I've sorted out my....conflicted feelings about it >_<), here's some fanart ideas I've been sitting on for a while and finally decided to put to paper. And because I suck at drawing anthro characters because I wanted to challenge myself artistically, I humanized them.

That's it for now. I just wanted to make a happy Sly Cooper post before I tried reviewing the newest one. I HIGHLY recommend the first 3 games to anyone who loves a fun platformer and wants to play something that feels like one of the great adventure cartoons from the Disney Afternoon.

I just finished watching a Let's Play of the game Lollipop Chainsaw (oh how I wish I had the money for new games right now!) and the urge to draw this messed up thing overwhelmed me.

Got this idea during a fit of boredom and couldn't let it go.

I'm honestly surprised no Japanese company ever approached WB to make an anime or RPG based on Scooby Doo. If nothing else, it would be interesting to see this franchise through the eyes of insane Japanese game developers.

I know I'm WAY late to the party on this one. But a few weeks ago my sister showed me an E3 trailer for a video game called 'Dead Island'. The trailer is AMAZING! And I got really excited for the game. I swear, this thing was so well done that I almost cried at the end. That's right. A video game trailer about zombies invading a beach resort almost made me cry. I'd go on, but you have to see this thing for yourself if you haven't already:

I just learned about this game via a magazine article I randomly picked up at a friend's place and HOLY S**T I WANT THIS GAME SO BAD!!!

The magazine has some info about this game on their site (here and here). But here are the Cliff's Notes:
Matt Stone and Trey Parker are working with Obsidian Games to make a South Park console RPG. The basic story centers around a new kid (a silent protagonist controlled by the player) moving to South Park and having to fight his or her way up the social food chain. And, if all goes as planned, the game's visuals will look like you're playing an actual episode of the show. And you'll be able to explore the town and surrounding areas Legend of Zelda style.

It's a good thing my sister loves South Park as much as I do. Because she owns the PS3 and I know she wont mind if this game camps out in the console for about 6 months after I buy it! ^_^
