I never dated in high school (unless you count my group date to the prom). I didn't want to get into a relationship because I had a lot of older friends, I knew that NOBODY stays together after graduation, and I wanted to avoid that heartbreak.
Of course, I did know a few couples who were drama queens and had "Ross&Rachael" style relationships. But the MASSIVELY dysfunctional ones were the exception, not the rule. And no one ever broke up because of a dog. :P


Wow. It's scary that your writing teacher flat out told you that a story about two girls was incomplete without a conversation about boyfriends!
I guess the media is so aggressive about portraying teenage girls as boy crazy that the culture at large just assumes that it's true for all of us. :(
